Lego WeDo Robotics Summer Camp

Kids will need all their creativity, design and engineering skills to design, build, program and test the robot to complete the challenge of the week.

Small groups (max 12 kids) and low 1:6 instructor to student ratio.

Each camper has own robotics kit to work with.

Before and after care is available for small additional fee.

Each Week includes daily 3D Modeling, Design and Printing lessons. New themes every week. By the end of the week every student will print own creation to bring home.

We recommend signing up for two consecutive weeks of the same program to get the most out of our Robotics Lessons.

Robotics: Lego WeDo Educational Robotic is a hands-on solution that ignites students’ curiosity, while enhancing their skills in science, engineering, technology, and programming. We build robots and make them perform challenges. In our camp we use Lego WeDo bricks, motors and sensors to create robots using the instructions as well as using own imagination. The easy to use block-based application allows to operate and interact with the robots. We introduce our students to the concept of Algorithm and Sequencing emphasizing the importance of structure and logic in any programming exercise. Lego WeDo allows kids to solve challenges using their creativity and critical thinking while working in team and individually. Campers will investigate the problems and find possible solutions working in collaboration with peers and instructor. This program will teach kids to present their thoughts and designs, discuss the possible options and go through all the phases of Design Thinking Process.

3D Modeling and Design: Using TinkerCad, campers will learn how to use the CAD software to design and print their own piece. With this exercise, students will learn the basics of 3D printing, 3D modeling and design, and learn the process going from idea to prototyping and to the final product.

Schedule of the Day (might be minor variation depending on weather)

9:00 – 9:15 Gathering and greetings

9:15 – 12:30 Robotics class

12:30 – 2:00 Lunch break, outside play

2:30 – 4:00 Design time: 3D modeling and design

4:00 – 5:00 Structured leisure time: depending on the day of the week, kids will have the opportunity to build with LEGO, to engineer projects like catapult; watch ‘How It’s Made’ series, play board games, read.

We have movie afternoon with ice cream on Wednesday and Pizza on Friday.

More detailed agenda will be provided 1 week prior the start of the camp via Newsletter.
